This year will be remembered as the year when two old Eighties rivals, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper, had a showdown. So far in 2008, both have scored #1 hits on the Billboard Dance Club/Play Chart. Madonna hit first with "4 Minutes" and Lauper has the current #1 with "Same Ol' Fucking Story". "Story" was written by Lauper with New York DJ Richard More. Though it's not her first dance chart hit, the CD from which the track is taken is Lauper's first top to bottom dance album titled "Bring Ya to the Brink".
Released within a month of Madonna's "Hard Candy", "Brink" is set to give the current dance music Queen a run for the charts. "Same Ol' Fucking Story" is the second international single from "Brink".
The first single was the Japanese release "Set Your Heart". The CD is packed back to front with single worthy tracks like "Into the Nightlife".
